Arrived at Cadwell on friday ,got talking someone i know who runs in BSB superstock 1000 and got some tips for my race weekend.
Saturday qualifying the weather turned out to be dry for qualifying.
Qualified 10th with a 1.42.39 ( matching my average race pace ).
Race 1 : Got a good start ,passing a few straight away then working my way into 6th by the finish with a 1.39.57 ( best i could have hoped for or so i thought as i have never been faster than 1.40 ).I was putting into practice the tips i had been given and they were working i was faster through alot more corners than i have ever been - bring on the rest of the weekends racing - im on a roll.
RACE 2: Weather had slightly drizzled rain and was on and off so tyre choice was a gamble i opted for wets as did most others ( turned out to be the wrong choice )lads who won ran a wet front with a dry rear .Similar sort of situation bit more aggressive in the first corner and keep the pace rocking , 7 th by the first corner - game on.I chased the leading pack one went down at MANSFIELD ( bottom of the gooseneck ) 6th now great but the others pulled away but still had my sights on the one infront it took me a while but i reeled him in and passed him into the beginning of CHRIS CURVE ( NEARLY RAN INTO THE BACK OF HIM AS HIS TYRES HAD GONE OFF BEFORE MINE AND HE COULDN'T GO ANY FASTER ).Finished 5th with 1.42.36
SUNDAY
QUALIFIED 7th with 1.40.21
Race 1 :Got a good start , chased hard finished 5th with a 1.38.84 ( MY FASTEST EVER LAP AT CADWELL ).
RACE 2: Fluffed my start and had to fight from about 10th , got stuck behind 2 riders that were holding me up, as i was faster in some corners but couldn't get passed them due to them slowing me too much on the exits, i just watched them and weighed up where i could make a pass, got myself out of shape trying to shoot up the inside of the first guy into THE OLD HAIRPIN then settled my self for a pass on the next lap ( which turned out to be the last lap unfortunatly )Iran on the outside of him exiting THE OLD HAIRPIN and forced the guy into a mistake on the last corner BARN where i shoved my bike under him as he ran wide and powered over the line FINISHING 8th with 1.39.99
Had a fantastic weekend , thanks to all the family again for their support and my daughters friend Chloe for her support.
A big thanks to Tony "madmanx" for the T-shirts from his seattle charity day ( signed by some riders ).
