Round 6 is coming up this weekend and I'm going SOLO this time. My race buddies will not be there. This sucks as we always help each other out.
This weekend is the last WMRRA race of the season and the starting grid looks like it might be small. The weather on Saturday is not looking really
great but I gotta do what I gotta do. I will most likely install wet tires the night before and hope for rain because there just isn't time in the
morning to start swapping rims before first practice.
I will initially need to get a sign off from my "mentor" in either the first or second practice on Saturday and then get my evaluation by the
Race Referee on Sunday during the final race. At that point if I'm good enough according to the Race Referee I will have finally earned my "Expert"
race license at the end of the day.

Saturday (today) turned out to be a bust for me. I had to pull TV and Data cables to the new rooms of the house, that way when Bill and Mrs Bill visit, they will have internet and HDTV. Walls to be insulated on Sunday. Also had to cash in the extended warranty from the Saturn Sky that I got rid of (2K back!).
Im ready and packed up for Sunday except I do not have a generator. Hopefully I can find an available outlet.

Sunday started off pretty decent. I got to the track about 6:30 am. at 7&:00 am the gates open and shazaam! there is space available over by the the fuel depot, bummer is that I didn't have extension cord. That means no tire warmers for me.
Practice:
Went out on cold tires and did 5 laps. A little squirrelly until lap 2. Bike felt great and I pulled it into the pits after five laps.

Heat 2:
The schedule for the day was accelerated, so we were ahead about twenty minutes. Around 12:00 pm, I noticed the air starting to cool and a little wind picking up. I thought to myself "its going to rain".
At 2:30, just a little rain came down, not a whole lot, just a tiny bit. Anyway, it's too late to put on the rains so I'm going out on DOT's.
At 2:55, they blow the horn for us to get to the gate. One rider chose full rains, one chose intermediates and the rest of the field chose Dot's. We head out on the warm up lap, no big and grid.
There are 16 bikes listed to grid and I grid row 3.5. Green light and we are off, me with a half ass start. Turn one is just fine, turn two and down the hill to 3. Somebody high sides. I'm in about the fifth or sixth place.
Lap one was great. Lap two, everything is normal, I race up the back straight and into turn five, turn six, the next thing I know I'm sliding across the asphalt and into the dirt. I get up and fall back down, the corner workers just happen to be my friends Jerome and Jess, they tell me not to move. The race is red flagged, the track EMT's show up and go thru the post crash testing. My left arm was feeling really "hot" and I felt like I was in a dream state. Let me tell you, I don't think it was a serious crash, but I don't remember much after sliding. Darren, who was sitting up on the hill said I tumbled 8 times. Apparently, i tried to get up but kind of stumbled around until Jerome yelled at me to lay down. The WMRRA crew took care of me, making sure all was good. I hitched a ride back to the pits.
Mark DeGross, Donny and Heidi were there to greet me and to see how I was doing.
As of now: Bike is barely damaged, under 100.00 bucks.
A couple of ribs on the right hurt like hell, my hands are killing me, my neck and back are aching. The worst thing at the moment is my right arm, feels like I messed up some nerves, but, it should be just fine.
All in all, Im walking and talking and didn't get hauled away in the meat wagon. I will tell you how I feel tomorrow. Sad
Thanks to WMRRA Corner Workers and the WMMRA Safety Crew.
T

This explains the right arm...

Have this much fun with EMT's and Safety crew at a moments notice Smile

I'm sad panda =( Sorry I couldn't be out there with you this weekend, but work had me on the phone from 6am Saturday morning, until 3:30, at which I decided to go and hang out at Eastside Moto so I could at least chat with Patrick for a bit. He freaked out when I walked in, thought something happened (I forgot to tell them I was not racing this weekend. LOL).

By the end of the day, I couldn't make up my mind if I wanted to try Sunday or not. After thinking about it, I realized that people were going to come test the network in Atlanta on Sunday, and if they needed me, It would be hard to get in touch, so I decided against it.

Instead, I spent yesterday getting the race bike all cleaned up to put away for the winter. It makes me sad that the season is already over =(

Glad you are doing ok. Message me later, we'll hit up coffee =)
